When HIAS Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization dedicated to refugee support and legal services, was preparing to relocate to a new office space, the plan was straightforward: move their existing furniture and equipment into the new facility, minimizing cost and disruption. However, just weeks before the move, an unexpected disaster occurred—frozen pipes burst, causing significant flooding throughout the new space. The damage created a logistical and operational nightmare, putting their move and daily operations at risk.

Boomerang Office Furniture stepped in immediately to assess the situation and develop a responsive, efficient solution. Our first priority was to salvage as much of the client’s existing furniture as possible, including desks, seating, and modular pieces. Working quickly and carefully, our team sorted, inspected, and prepared each salvageable item for transport, ensuring they were cleaned, protected, and ready for safe relocation.

With the original space no longer an option, we coordinated the relocation to a new office location, helping the client adapt quickly to changing circumstances. In addition to recovering and reusing what we could, we also supplied brand-new workstations to complete the setup and accommodate their team’s needs. Our design team worked closely with HIAS PA to ensure the new office layout was efficient, functional, and aligned with the organization’s workflow and culture.

The result was a smooth, successful relocation under extremely challenging circumstances. HIAS Pennsylvania was able to continue serving their community without long delays or permanent loss of assets.
